I just enjoy living life. The words live, laugh, and love mean a lot to me. Though I take life seriously I always remember to stop and have fun. I am a first generation college graduate. Being raised by a single mother of five my mother stressed the importance of education.

TiffCollege has been one of my greatest accomplishments because it has allowed me a chance to embrace and empower myself as well as others. I am a strong willed person who doesn't take no for an answer.

My most treasured aspect of life is being a mother; my son is the highlight of my life, though he is full of energy literally! He keeps me on the right path and I wouldn't change the feeling of having someone who depends on me for support, protection, love, and guidance.

I was recently selected by The Children’s Defense Fund to attend their 2009 Young Advocate Leadership Training in Tennessee along with 120 others across the country who all share the mission of changing and impacting the lives of children.

I am a Prevention Specialist at the Single Parent Resource Center working with children ages 6-12 who reside in Tier II homeless shelters throughout the five boroughs. I must say working with children has been one of the most remarkable feelings in the world.

The children that I work with have taught me how to love, dream, strive, and, more importantly how to keep believing. I remember when my family became homeless years ago and the experience was terrifying, so I understand what they are going through. This is one of the reasons I go to work everyday to make a difference in the lives of these children. All it takes is a special person to make a difference.
